Bali - A Popular Vacation Spot

Many people choose Bali, Indonesia when planning a vacation. Its diverse culture, indigenous cuisine and lush tropical surroundings provide a gorgeous backdrop for a time of relaxation and pleasure.

Bali's hot and sunny climate make it a popular destination for tourists. Being situated just south of the equator gives Bali a year-round season of summertime, with temperatures ranging from 80 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The monsoon months (October to April) bring about often unpredictable rain, but even then the days are mostly clear and sunny. Locals can been seen on the beach as early as 6:30am and they don't retire until twelve hours later, when the sun begins to set.

The Balinese are an interesting people. Their religious views are based on the Hindu caste system, in which there are distinct classes of people. At the bottom - and comprising most of the Balinese natives - are the peasants. Just above them is the warrior caste, then the king caste and finally the caste belonging to the holy men and priests. Even more fascinating is the fact that each different class of people has their own spoken dialect by which to identify themselves, as well as one general dialect, in order to avoid embarrassing situations in which one person isn't sure which caste another is from.

Amidst this rich cultural heritage is an abundance of entertainment, dining and shopping. The traditional Balinese dances are performed at various hotels and resorts to charm the guests. Food ranges from Japanese restaurants to native cuisine to Italian eateries. The Monkey Forest is popular with families, but watch out for the monkeys! They enjoy stealing little trinkets, and their claws can cause quite a bit of pain.

The money used in Bali is called the rupiah and is quite confusing to those not familiar with it. Notes range from denominations of 1,000 to 100,000, though their American dollar equivalent is quite low, with one US dollar being worth nearly 10,000 rupiah. Coins and smaller currency are rarely used. When change at a retail store or restaurant cannot be made with available currency, it is often paid for with candy and peanuts.

Be careful, though, when changing money in Bali. There are many predators eager to rip off an unsuspecting tourist who doesn't understand the money. By keeping a currency cheat sheet on hand you can make sure that a money changer isn't giving you less rupiah than your money is worth. Never give them your money until you have counted and recounted the rupiah, and never return the rupiah once you have made the exchange.

Luxury Villas in Bali Offer a True Value Vacation

Just like choosing your life partner is an important decision, requiring some soul-searching, selecting the perfect holiday destination can be quite mind-boggling too. What with so many hotels, resorts and time-share programs working to confuse more than convince one of the quality of service and facilities a first-time traveler to Bali can expect. But, with the emergence of a new property development order in the trendy parts of this beautiful tropical island, global tourists to Bali can avail a true value vacation by booking a Bali hotel villa.

The reason they are called so is because these offer all the conveniences of a typical hotel stay, but with additional privacy, luxury and a greater sense of personal freedom as facilities are extended on a home-to-home basis. This means, each private villa set-up is independent to function as a full-service holiday home, but on a grander scale!

Imagine staying at a hotel and being cooped up in a room or even a suite where time-out would mean sitting by the hotel pool with all the other guests and exchanging polite smiles having seen the same faces many times a day. Then, consider booking a beautiful, designer Bali hotel villa and only seeing the faces you want to actually see and want to make meaningful conversation with. You can do so easily enough when you lease a private beach front villa because it will offer you complete privacy, with most being designed to give space to the guests, with a scenic backdrop and elegant landscaping to make it the perfect place to connect with your self - and loved ones!

No more making your way through crowds at the public beach or waiting your chance at a shared dining facility during set hours for your meals. When you make the right choice of any of the luxury villas in Bali, you actually are signing up for a treat of a lifetime! You can have the kind of meals you savor by asking your in-house staff to shop ingredients for you and prepare you a local or continental gourmet meal of your choice, for your personal chef can easily do so for you at the cost included in the booking amount for your Bali hotel villa.

You can also pamper yourself with a longer dip in your very own private pool, usually attached to the villa you rented, or experience the traditional island hospitality by visiting the golden sandy beaches just a short walk away from your property. As the best private luxury villas in Bali are strategically situated on the outskirts of the island but not too far to make guests feel isolated, so you can bank on the beaches being close at hand when you want to unwind at a leisurely pace.

You can also try out local cuisine and gourmet meals at the many restaurants lining the beach front and inquire from the friendly local staff attached to your Bali hotel villa about other fun holiday activities and local tours you can take in during your stay. They are sure to be knowledgeable about local hot spots and help you pick the right ones according to your personal interests.

What cruise vacation package

A cruise is relaxing, luxury and adventure. However, before you actually get to the ship, there are dozens of details to iron out. First, you need to decide your itinerary. Which region of the world that want to see? What ports to be visited? What are the shore excursions you take? As soon as it was then decided to find out that you need to know what cruise line you want to book. With the cruise lines for more than two dozen large a worldDecision that requires much research. And of course you can not forget the setting of a budget for the trip. The money that you have a dramatic impact on where you are going and what to do on your vacation.

With all these important considerations, decide what can go on a cruise as nothing more than an afterthought seem to pack. However, if you want your cruise to be as stressful as possible, then you have some thoughts about what you put in taking ahead of time, not just cram everything you own in a suitcase the night before.

First of all, we want to make sure that your travel documents are in order. Gather your Cruise Line Tickets, airline tickets, passports, prescriptions, insurance documents and all other related documents together and make several copies of them. You can leave a copy at home with a friend or relative, they can send it by fax if necessary. Also, make sure that thephotocopied, stored up to two carry-on baggage and your luggage. These backups available, you should fall in case something is lost or stolen.

Second, you want the cabinet to plan ahead. What kind of cruise you are going on here? It 's very luxurious, with every dinner is a formal thing? Do you need a jacket and tie for men and evening gowns for the ladies. However, it is more fun and adventure as the formalities ended, then you can certainly get away with itmore casual clothing. Destination and season play an important role. Obviously, a winter cruise in the Baltic Sea requires a very different from the closet in a summer trip in the Mediterranean. Even if you travel in summer, but be sure to bring at least one set of warm clothes. There is always the possibility of bad weather and wet and shivering is no way to spend your luxury vacations.

Above all, be sure to avoid overpacking. Airlines have strictRestrictions for additional or overweight bags and find themselves paying a stiff premium, but to stay within their borders. Bring clothes that can be combined. They wear the same shirt or blouse with a skirt or pants differently. Bring scarves and jewelry to accessorize light. Also providing a degree of flexibility, you can significantly reduce the amount of clothing you need to bring. Do not forget that most cruise ships offer a laundry service, so you do not havecare for up to run clean clothes.

Cultural Tours Of Bali - A Vacation Traveler's Guide

Islands have always held a special fascination for tourists across the globe. And, Bali is no exception. An Indonesian island, Bali is the biggest tourist destination in the country. One of the major attractions of this place is its rich cultural heritage. A hub for art, Bali is highly regarded for its sculpture, dance, painting, metalwork, music, etc. Inhabited mainly by migrants from the mainland of Asia, Bali has a history dating back to 3000 B.C. It is, therefore, befitting that the traditional practices of this place have survived the test of time. An unadulterated Bali bears testimony to this inarguable fact.
Art enjoys an exalted position in Bali. The people of this place are deft craftsmen and prodigiously gifted musicians. The Gameplan music of this place is renowned all over the world. A musical bonanza created from an ensemble of instruments, including Xylophones, Drums, Metallophones, Gongs and Flutes, the art is a treat to both the eyes and the ears. In addition to this, Bali is famous for its handicrafts, woodcarving, and dance forms. The Pendet, Baris, Topeng, Barong, Kecak, and Legong are some of the most popular Balinese dances. Despite constant inflow of foreign immigrants, the legacy has largely remained untouched and these art forms are ample proof of this.
One of the most popular and widely-watched events in the world is the event preceding Nyepi, the New Year celebration of this place. Bali prides itself for the spectacular performance, where large, colorful sculptures known as Ogoh-Ogoh monsters are lined up along the streets, and later paraded and burnt.
For a tourist, the island of Bali is nothing less than a masterpiece painted by an accomplished artist. Lush green paddy fields, dense forests, picturesque beaches and mountains that kiss the sky make for an amazing view. The scenic beauty of this island, coupled with grand temple architecture and interesting ceremonies, make Bali a prime tourist spot.
The prehistoric roots of Bali are exemplified by stone pillar inscriptions and intricate rock-cut memorials located at Gunung Kawi. Although marred by violent carnages and blood-shed, Bali has changed little in terms of its value systems. The Hindu legacy of the island is still visible in the Balinese community practices. Tourists visiting Bali would find the Gunung Kawi monument, the Museum Le Mayeur and Puru Ulun Danu Bratan veritable sight-seeing locations offering records of Bali's ancient history and heritage.

Copenhagen, Denmark - A Child Friendly Place to Vacation

When you and your family are sitting around the dining room table trying to decide where you want to spend your next vacation, Copenhagen, Denmark may not be your first choice. But you may want to look into a bit more. Denmark has a lot to offer and Copenhagen is a very child friendly place to vacation.
A vacation spot needs to cater to everyone in the family and Copenhagen and the surrounding area has something for everyone. Let's look at some of things Denmark has to offer a visitor or expat in the realm of entertainment.
If you start you holiday off in Copenhagen, the capitol, you have access to lots of museums, amusement parks, zoos and beaches. In the heart of Copenhagen stands Tivoli, which is probably the most visited place in Denmark and has one of the world's best roller coaster "The Demon" and lots more attractions for both adults and children.
A great day with the children is Zoologisk Have or the Zoo, where there is a large array of animals from all over the world, including local species. There is a fantastic petting zoo and you can even climb the Zoo Tower and get an excellent overview of Copenhagen. There are buses from downtown that take you directly to the zoo's front gate - 10 to 15 minute ride!
And if you need more animal life, take a trip to Charlottelund and visit the Aquarium, which houses has all sorts of aquatic life including sharks, stingrays and even the most venomous fish in the world - the "reef stonefish"! The Aquarium is just north of the city and easily reached by train in about 20 minutes.
Another short bus ride away are several beaches, which are lots of fun for both adults and children. In town there are several swimming areas along the harbour, which are safe, clean and secure and very popular with locals and tourists. The two best beaches are Amager Strandparken in Amager or Bellevue (very small beach but nice location), which is in Klampenborg across from the Dyrehaven (animal park).
The Dyrehaven is a great place to explore either by bicycle or walking or by horse drawn carriage. Inside you will find wild deer and other forest creatures and even a famous amusement park called "Bakken". The "Bakken" is free to enter; you just pay for your rides.
If you are into museums, there is the Experimentarium which is full of hands on activities for the playful adult and adventurous children, there are other museums where you can indulge in war history, science and technology, art and crafts and many more things. Many of the museums cater to children with hands on activities and even dressing up in costumes.
Another great things about vacationing in Copenhagen is that there are so many things to see and do that are absolutely free or cost very little. If you are a bit adventurous rent a bicycle and go exploring the streets of Copenhagen. With the amount of bike paths available, cycling is a safe and fun way to explore.
Don't forget to sample the local food - you have not been to Denmark until you have had a poelse from a real poelsevogn. That is a hotdog from a hotdog vendor. Make sure you get everything on it. It may sound strange - but you want the roasted onions and the raw onions, the remoulade and even the special pickles - agurker!
Sample the various pastries - a Danish pastry in Denmark is not the same as those you get back in the states or the UK. A must have when you visit. Also the Danes love their ice cream and you should stop by and get an "isvaffel med floedebolle". It's 2 scoops of ice cream (flavor of choice), topped with freshly whipped cream, strawberry jam & a coconut cream puff on top!!!! DELICIOUS!
Once you worn out from all the sightseeing and activities, there are always the great parks, lakes and nature reserves to explore. You can rent kayaks along the coast and harbour areas, rent bikes in most camping areas and there is even golfing for dad or mom.
